Meet Dr. Travis Norseth

Travis Norseth, MD

I'm a psychiatrist who treats the full range of mental health conditions, from navigating daily stress and anxiety to complex mood disorders. I believe good psychiatric care is based on a trusting relationship: taking the time to understand your history, what you've already tried, and what matters most to you before building a plan together.

My approach is evidence-based, nonjudgemental, and practical. Medication is one tool among several, and I'll be direct with you about when it's likely to help, when it isn't, and what else we should be doing alongside it. This includes therapy, sleep, exercise, and changes in how you spend your time.

My goal is to help you achieve lasting health. This includes developing healthy relationships, improved insight into your story, and helping you engage in values-based actions.

I grew up in Salt Lake City and completed my bachelor's degree in neuroscience before attending medical school and psychiatry residency at the University of Utah. Outside of work, I'm usually with my family and our dogs - often at the pool or the park.

I specialize in supporting individuals with:

  • Depression, low motivation, and burnout, including depression that hasn't responded to prior treatment

  • Anxiety, worry, overthinking, and panic

  • Bipolar spectrum and mood instability

  • Adult ADHD and difficulty with focus or follow-through

  • Pregnancy, postpartum, and perinatal mental health

  • Life transitions, work and relationship stress, and grief

  • Trauma and its aftereffects

  • Interpersonal roles, existential issues

  • The mental health impact of chronic illness or medical conditions
